Ecological Garden

Akdeniz Bahcesi is an eco-hotel in the midst of a tranquil Mediterranean garden. Our 4.5 acres are filled with flowers and bird song. We grow a variety of vegetables and have almost 200 fruit trees, including pomegranates, apples, oranges, tangerines, grapefruits, lemons, avocados, white and black mulberries, plums, figs, olives, grapes, pomelos, walnuts, pecan nuts, and dates. Our garden is scented with Mediterranean jasmines, begonias, mimosas, magnolias, Chinese wisterias and lilies. We were awarded our organic certificate in 2005, from EKOTAR.

Our garden is a natural paradise for children, with lots of space to run, climb and play. We have shady areas for relaxing on lazy summer days, and plenty of opportunities to get to know our cat Uzum and all of our chickens. If you are lucky you may even spot a wild tortoise or chameleon!

We have a special area set aside where children can paint stones and make necklaces from natural materials such as seashells and beads. Of course, adults are welcome to play here, too!

Çıralı, Kemer, Antalya

Çıralı is an agricultural village in southwest Turkey, in the Kemer district of Antalya Province. It is walking distance from the ancient ruins of Olympos and Chimaera permanent gas vents, located in the ancient Lycia region of Anatolia.

Çıralı is a very small rural village located just over an hour's drive southwest from Antalya. It has a 3.5 km secluded beach. The ancient ruins of Olympos are located at the far end of its coast. A long hike up the mountains is required to reach the flames of the Chimaera.

Cirali Bay, home of sea turtles, legendary flames and Lycian ruins, is a place where history and nature meet. Surrounded by stunning high mountains and a clear turquoise sea, Cirali is a welcome retreat from busy cities and overdeveloped resorts. Behind the beach lies a mix of fruit farms, small pensions and restaurants.

Starting from Musa Mountain in the south, Cirali beach stretches 3,2 km to the rocky Karaburun headland. Due to its protected status this pebble beach remains unspoiled and is a perfect place to unwind. With its clear and calm sea it is an ideal spot for swimming and snorkelling.

The most important inhabitants of Cirali are the Caretta Caretta (Loggerhead) turtles! Between the end of May and the beginning of August, turtles come to the beach in order to lay their eggs. Throughout the season, volunteers from the World Wild Fund for Nature (WWF) regularly patrol the beach, placing cages over the nests of the Caretta Caretta eggs in order to protect them from human damage. The baby sea turtles hatch between the middle of July and the end of September and during this period it’s possible to see the babies early in the morning, when volunteers check the nests.

Many boat trips run from Cirali to neighbouring bays and caves and even to the sunken city of Kekova. We are happy to help you organise such tours as part of your family vacation.
